So What Style of Country Music Floats Your Boat?

Many newbie singers struggle at developing their vocal talents when it should not be the case. If you are one of them and you are feeling frustrated at your seeming inability to meet your musical goals, maybe you have set your standards too high. Even if you are not a particularly talented singer, you can still manage to sing beautiful tones, vibrato and rip through the high notes.

Musicians Are Real People With Hobbies

Rockabilly's brightest luminary, Carl Perkins, once said that of all the honors he'd received in his life, having a child abuse prevention center named after him was the one he cherished the most. Perkins, whose 1956 smash crossover hit "Blue Suede Shoes" (it was the first song ever to sit near the top of each of the pop, country, and R&B charts) defines the essence of rockabilly, was the co founder of the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center For the Prevention of Child Abuse in Jackson, Tennessee.

Making Music in Hindi Films Then and Now

When you're tasked with organising the entertainment for a social event you may find searching for worthy acts to be quite difficult, even if you've spotted an act you are considering hiring that has great credentials you may still have a sense of uncertainty as they're probably total strangers. You have to give your soloists or band a great deal of trust especially if you are unfamiliar with them as you're bound to wonder if they'll even show up, it's also possible that you inadvertently hire a band that's not up to the job and they could potentially turn your event into a disaster.

From Timbuktu to the Mississippi Delta Introduction

Neil Diamond is one of those rare singers that has staying power. Quite a few years ago Garth Brooks said that a true test of an artist is how long they will last. Neil also has another rare trait that never ceases to amaze me. Because of his magnetism in his concerts he connects with his audience almost like no other. He was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which was long overdue.

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

The song "Mystery Train" has become one of the most iconic classics of the rockabilly genre and in fact of all rock and roll. The song has it all: a great, mood-invoking vibe, wonderful driving slap-bass work by Bill Black, one of the most perfect guitar parts ever recorded courtesy of Scotty Moore, and of course Elvis' flawless, raw, powerful vocal delivery. And the song itself is one of those rare gems that stands strong on its own, separate from the performance. But though Elvis and the boys own this song with their amazing performance of it, Elvis didn't write it. So, where did it come from? Well, that gets to the roots of rockabilly!

Teen Mom stars Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley! (Hide ya kids! Hide ya wife!)

Supposedly, the MTV reality pair are heading out our way, to El Lay, to shoot some stuff for the show and have decided that while they're already here, they might as well look for a place to settle down.

Anderson, IN not living up to its wild-party namesake, kids???

According to sources, the pair are "working" to get their relationship back on track and think this movie might bring them closer together and back to be being a family. The source adds:

"They want to start a new life together and moving to LA would be the best way to start over. And of course it would also really help with their future projects like book deals, a clothing line and more television."

Ah! And another Hollywood dream is born in the minds of Z-list reality stars.

Just one quick question, though, before you pack up tchotchkes and peace out - Are ya'll even allow to leave Indiana?

Seriously! Isn't Amber still in a lot of legal drama right now for, oh geez what did she do again…oh yeah, punching you in the face, Gary??? How quickly we all forget when there is money to be made!

P.S. - Where is you baby? Is someone raising her???

How to Enjoy Playing Music More Without Emptying Your Wallet

The feisty flame-haired singer from Paramore has known what she wants from an early age. What other 14-year-old would have stand up to a record company and refused to do what they wanted, when she had just signed a lucrative deal. The teenager was given a production deal by the label who wanted to promote her as a solo pop artist, but she stood her ground and said she wanted to be part of a band and play alternative music.

Les Chansons Des Perverts 16 Super Hits

Rockabilly was a uniquely American invention. The music grew out of the rich diversity of American musical forms of the first half of the 20th century. Blues, country, gospel, rhythm and blues, and even elements of jazz could be said to have come together and manifested themselves in a wild new type of music that came to be called rockabilly. The development of rock and roll and rockabilly can be considered among America's proudest accomplishments. But if it hadn't have been for the British, rockabilly might not be the vibrant and living musical art form that it is today, almost 60 years after it first hit the pop, country, and R&B charts.

This is going to get nasty.

A date has been set for Charlie Sheen to finally legally go head-to-head against Warner Bros and Chuck Lorre over him being fired from Two and a Half Men.

Rather than bore you with a lot of legal jargon, we're going to explain the dealio fairly simply - Charlie wants what Charlie wants and he isn't going to stop until he gets it. Right now, what he wants is his $100 million lawsuit against the studio and the exec to be a public trial. He wants the whole dog-and-pony show aired live around the world for everyone to see. That's the last thing the WB/Chuck want, so they are fighting him on that point before they even get to the $100mil lawsuit.

So, on April 19, all parties will go to court to decide on whether or not this whole thing should play out in court.

Make sense? Good!

If not, blame Charlie.

Karaoke Downloads Are Increasing Know Why

One of the more curious aspects of rockabilly is that often times the themes of rockabilly songs tended to be rather silly. In fact, you could almost say that there was an art to taking a goofy theme that might otherwise condemn a song to the category of "novelty song" and making a legitimate rocker out of it. It was almost as if the songwriter was daring the listener to dismiss the song as silly. But the music was so energetic and sincere that these songs could not be shrugged off quite so easily. Here are a few goofy examples that illustrate what I mean.

Make A Rap Song Like A Professional Rapper

To be able to play the Harmonica correctly in the cross harp or second position style you need to understand that to be able to hit a hole, and be able to get a sound out of that hole only, is very important. On the 3 hole of C Harmonica you can get 5 different notes and this is so important in playing Country Music and Blues. To be able to get each note specifically will set you apart from lots of other players and will help so much in playing pretty Country Music melodies.

According to a representative from St. James Palace:

"The Prince — Patron of the charity Walking with the Wounded — will join the group at their base camp in in Longyearbyen, north Norway on March 29, where he will undertake three days of training with the team. The Prince will then trek with the team for five days as they commence their expedition high above the Arctic Circle."

He'll depart on April 5th while the rest of the team continues on for another three weeks!

Such an amazing cause! We bet it's going to be one of those experiences that you never forget!

So brave! Best of luck to everyone going out there to participate!

Will Britney Spears Co Headline Her Upcoming Concert Tour?

Earlier this month we learned from our dear Britney Spears herself that she is planning to go on tour this Summer in support of her new album Femme Fatale which hits stores on Tuesday. Today we are hearing a new rumor that claims that Britney will co-headline her tour with another big name act. But, [...]

Last night David and I braved the rain so that we could grab a drink in West Hollywood so that we could get some fresh air out of the house. We talked about going to a movie but couldn’t decide on what to see so we decided to just go bar hopping instead. We made a pilgrimage to The Abbey in West Hollywood so that we could visit the memorial set up for the late Elizabeth Taylor and drink a toast in her honor.

The Abbey was one of Taylor‘s favorite nightspots in LA and she would frequently show up at the bar to visit with her throngs of gay fans. The portrait of her pictured above has been on display at The Abbey for years … and it has now become a memorial in her honor. The New York Times even published a piece on the Abbey‘s memorial to Elizabeth Taylor … it’s a great read. It’s still very sad to know that Dame Elizabeth is no longer with us but her memory will live on forever.

Our friends Michael and Sam joined us for a drink last night and we had a great time hanging out. Tonight, David and I will be going to the Music Box to see Oh Land and OMD in concert. This will be my 3rd Oh Land concert in two months and my first time seeing OMD live in concert. The weekend is here, y’all!! I hope you have a great one!!

Britney Spears Schedules An Appearance On Jimmy Kimmel Live

Great news, Britney Spears fans … in addition to making an appearance in Las Vegas, NV tonight, a live performance in San Francisco, CA Sunday and a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show next Monday, our dear Britney has booked an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live next Tuesday night … the very day that [...]

Britney Spears, who is about to start a whirlwind few days of promo for the release next Tuesday of her new album Femme Fatale, spent some time yesterday with her sons in Calabasas, CA so that they could do a bit of shopping for a birthday party that Sean Preston has been invited to. Despite the ceaseless rain that fell all day long yesterday, Britney and sons made their way to Gymboree to pick up a few things for the party and mebbe for themselves as well.

You can see that Sean P. was clutching his coveted birthday party invite so my guess is that the family went out in search of a gift for that lucky birthday boy or girl. It’s nice that Britney had time to do this fun errand with her sons because she is going to be real bizzy all weekend long. Tomorrow she will make her way to Las Vegas before flying from there to San Francisco to perform on Sunday. Then she’s back home here in LA to make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week in support of the release of her album Tuesday. Rain or shine, Britney mania is about to explode all around the world. I can’t wait!!

Home Theater Innovations

One of the basic skills you will need to learn is knowing what seeds to plant and the time it will take to harvest the mature plant. Just buying seed based on the time it will take them to grow is not the best strategy. Most importantly you must know how often you can log into your Facebook account and access Farmville.

The History of the First Fashion Exhibition

Home electronics have come a very long way over the last twenty years or so. Just two decades ago, anyone that wanted to install a home theater system in his or her house had to invest a considerable amount of money in the venture. And even at that, the equipment that was available was fairly rudimentary when compared to what is available today. Digital technology has given rise to a whole new generation of audio/visual equipment that is not only far superior to anything that has come before, but is also much more affordable.

So … while pretty much everyone was expecting Apple to announce the release of a new generation iPhone — the iPhone 5 — Apple, instead, had other plans. Last night Darion and I were invited to the Hollywood premiere of the new Footloose film so we put on our dancing shoes, I put on my jean jacket and we made our way to the Village Westwood Theatre to partake of the festivities. I have to tell you … we had a blast. Not only was the movie fun for me to see again (I saw and reviewed the film last week) but the afterparty was a TOTAL blast! D and I snapped some fun pics last night, including one with Footloose star Kenny Wormald. We had the time of our lives!

The afterparty, as you might imagine, was themed around the Footloose movie so naturally there was a HUGE danceparty. DJ Bizzy, one of my fave djs, absolutely KILLED it with his playlist. His string of 80s hits ensured that I could not be seated at this event. Darion and I made our way to the dancefloor and literally danced for 3 hours. It got hot and sticky and we did not care. The Footloose cast joined us on the floor and there we were, dancing with Kenny, Julianne Hough and her boyfriend Ryan Seacrest (who is really, really little in person … and very camera shy). I haven’t been dancing in ages so I took great advantage of the opportunity. I’m telling you folks, trust me on this … check out this new Footloose film. Let go of your prejudices and just go with it … I really think you will enjoy it as much as I did :)

No plans for tonight … I keep threatening to do laundry and, yet, it never seems to get done. Maybe today? Maybe today.

How The Goth Scene Became Such Big Business

Not being able to slot things into genres is a thing that happens rarely. More so when it comes to music for we live in times where being the 'new' old thing is what makes it easier. Acquired Senses, the debut album of HFT, is the perfect antithesis to what the Indian non-Hindi and non-filmy music world has become.

Earlier this week, Twilight star Taylor Lautner appeared on MTV‘s The Seven to do a bit of promo work and he managed to reveal that he is a HUGE fan of Britney Spears‘s music. Not only does he love her new album Femme Fatale but he also loves her older songs as well. Check out the video below to find out which Britney Spears song he would sing on Glee if he were ever given the opportunity.

I would LOVE to hear Taylor Lautner sing Britney‘s Oops, I Did It Again … not because I think he’s a good singer but I’d love to hear his take on the song. See, I knew there was something about Lautner that I really liked. I used to think it was his rock hard abs but now I realize he’s got great taste in pop music ;) Um, I think I still love his abs but … his love of Britney is also very endearing.
